3 different species of that one particular hawkmoth.
The first one acherontia styx is from asia. It can sneak into beehives and steal their honey. Just like heffalumps and woozles. Erm you know what i mean! Ahem!
All 3 deaths head moths have different colors, and the skull patterns on their thoraxes vary in shape and design.
Yes they all have the skull pattern on the thorax. But each species has a differently shaped skull mark. And these moths are big too. And make a funny squeaky sound if you disturb or poke them.
I know my moths. What can i say
if there's one thing I learned about the deaths head hawk moth, is that, it was in the silence of the lambs movies, the moth itself makes a slight buzzing noise when it flies, and there's this silly superstition that its bad luck when it comes into your house at night.
